Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. In the name of God the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-salam 'alaykum, Asma'el Muhaiyaddeen. May all the peace and blessings of God be upon all of us.
My love you very, very much (anbu). Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler).
Thank you very much for sending me a copy of your recent letters to Muhammad Abdul Qadir (Michael Green) and your valiant effort to explain the true meaning of Islam. You are a very good Child of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and are to be praised for both your effort and your clarity. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.
We need to stick together. No matter what happens we need to stick together. We have been given the greatest gift of all mankind, the greatest gift from the beginning of time, the greatest of all gifts, greater than the gift of you or I, greater than the gift of the true Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us) which we have yet to become, greater than the gift of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) which we have yet to meet.
And greater than the gift of the Prophet Muhammad and the Holy Quran which we have yet to experience, or of any of the 124,000 prophets of God (may God be pleased with all of His Prophets) that we have yet to visit, and even greater than what is greater than God Himself, which is the duty of God, which we have yet to do.
And that greatest of all gifts, which has never happened before, anywhere or at any time, is the understanding of God, the understanding of God that allows God to complete what He has started within each of us, that allows God to finish what He began within each of us 200 million years ago, that allows God to finally answer the question that God asked of God in anathi, the question, "Who am I?
This is what Allah is about, this is what the Prophet of God, Muhammad Mustafa' al-Rasul is about (may the peace and blessings of God be upon Him), this is what our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen is about (may God be pleased with Him), this is what the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen are about (may God be pleased with each of Us), and this is what the Creation of God that God has personally placed within each of us is all about, nothing else, nothing less or more than this.
This is what brings the world as we know it to an end, and starts the world as God knows it, starts the world as explained to all of us in this world through the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), that God has now placed within each of us.
Nothing that has come before is relevant, not any of the 124,000 prophets of God, not Adam, not Noah, not Abraham, not Ishmael, not Moses, not David, not Jesus, and not Muhammad (may God be pleased with all of His prophets), which in this new age all become but the Crown on the Head of Adam in the first heaven (may the blessings of God be upon Him). A relatively small thing in the world that we are all about to enter, if that truly be our intention.
Bawa told us one day that God is completeness and illusion is incompleteness, and as such there is no end to illusion, the more you look at it the more it opens up and shows you something else, something new, but you will never ever get to an end of it, it will never become complete, and as a result you will never find peace in your pursuit of it.
But if instead you turn to God directly, rather than using intermediaries, including your own mind, if you turn directly to the grace, wisdom, and ilm or divine knowledge of God within yourself, using what God has personally given you for your age, not using anything that has come down from previous ages, which doesn't really apply to our current situation, and have all been changed and distorted by the people anyway, to better meet their needs in the world, masking in this way what actually came from God.
In you do this, if you do it this way, you can be successful in your life by allowing your wisdom to reason over your fate, by turning to and learning to correctly use what God has placed in front of you, in front of all of us for this age, which is the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), then you will reach completion, then and only then will your life become complete and will you find peace within the completeness and peace that is God.
My dearest loving brother of the heart, of the One heart of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), please give up trying to understand what only God can understand, and stop joining with those who are endlessly pursuing God through their minds, never to find the peace they are all seeking.
Please give all of this up, and instead learn to sit at the feet of our Father, of Bawa, of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, of Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), by joining with those who are currently sitting at His feet.
Seek them out and join with them, as this child is doing. They are there if you look, if you look with an open heart guided by the light of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him). There is no other way.
May we both do this heart work, may we both go in search of these companions of the heart, and put everything else down. For without finding and joining with them we will all be lost, only this community of the heart will survive what is about to befall all of us. We must realize, without the slightest doubt, that everything else is folly.
For as Bawa told us one day,
"It is better to go down together than to stand alone."
Seek out the brothers and sisters of the heart, who are really all within us, not in the dream that we see "outside" of us, and give up the brothers and sisters of the mind, who will gradually convince themselves, and all those around them, that Bawa is not a "Shaikh", that Bawa is not "Islam", that Bawa does not support the 5 times Islamic prayers, that Bawa is really Buddha, or Jesus, or Moses, or Muhammad, or Krishna, in disguise (may God be pleased with all of His Prophets), and finally that Bawa isn't really Divine but merely a man just like us, or that Bawa didn't really come into the world at all, and doesn't really exist anyway.
This is the path they are taking, unraveling the very thing, the beautiful unique thing that is not like anything else that has ever come before or will ever come again, that Bawa built over the last 2000 years for all of us, whether they know it or not, whether they like it or not. Hell will be their eventual end, because hell is what they love and really want, not God, not wisdom, not the truth, not a life of "oneness with" God, a life of "oneness with" each other, and certainly not a life of "oneness with" the true Creation of God that God has personally placed within each of us . What to do.
And don't be sad about this. It is Ok. Remember, Bawa teaches us that,
"The justice of God is that whatever we intend is what we will receive".
So they, and each of us, will get the house that we build while living in the world, either the 7 hells or the 7 heavens, or the 8th heaven, or the arsh al-mu'mim, the throne of the true believer. The choice is ours. The choice is always ours, not God's.
One day Bawa was telling somebody about our departed brother Lex Hixon, and Bawa said, with a very sad voice, that He visited the home of Lex many times, but each time his door was locked, and Bawa couldn't enter. What to do.
Our work in the world is to keep our heart open to Bawa, to the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen within us (may God be pleased with Him), and to the true Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen within us (may God be pleased with each of Us), who take everything of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) as true, as the life and teaching of God for this age, handing all of it back to God, for His understanding, not ours, for His use, not ours, surrendering in this way to the feet of His Holiness.
Not striking out on their own, not trying to form a better and more perfect world, or a better or more perfect teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), one that fits their ego, that fits their self infused importance, especially after mistakenly thinking that they have met Bawa, understand Bawa, and are one of Bawa's Children, none of which in truth has yet happened for any of us, or they just go off after listening to Bawa and do what makes them popular with the crowd.
Be careful, my dearest loving brother, it is a slippery slope that you are climbing, and many before you, with a similar flare for words, for "word smithing", and for intellectual investigation, have ended up in hell.
This is not a journey of our understanding, it is a journey of God's understanding, of God answering Himself, of God answering the question that He asked of God, in anathi, of God explaining to God who God is, and our work is the support staff, to help God complete this work within us, not to try and take on the role that only God can have within us, the role of the one who understands God, which is the role of our soul joined with our wisdom, as Qutb Muhaiyaddeen within us (may God be pleased with Him), which when joined with the body of the soul, the light of our wisdom, becomes the Nur Muhammad within us, the seed of Iman the seed of True Man within us.
We are the school not the student. God is the student of God, not us, who uses us to study about God, if we correctly offer ourselves up to Him in that manner. We are the prayer mat not the one who prays. God is the one who prays to God, not us, who uses us as His prayer mat, if we correctly offer ourselves up to Him in that manner. We are the earth not the farmer. God is the farmer of God, not us, who uses us as His earth to grow His crops, if we correctly offer ourselves up to Him in that manner.
This is how it works, my dearest brother Asma'el Muhaiyaddeen, not the other way around. The other way around, with us as the student of God, with us as the one who prays to God, or with us as the farmer of God, is the path to an eternal hell, an eternal life of "separation from" God, and the suffering of the grave, which Bawa teaches us is very real, a path to hell which most people in the world have either taken or will take, including most of the people at the Fellowship. May we both think about this a little. It is very, very important.
Bawa told us a story one day,
"A very holy man was praying and in His meditation He saw the Prophet of God, Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon Him), and the Prophet of God was crying in His dream. And the holy man asked the Prophet of God why He was crying, and the Prophet of God told him."
"Since the time I was in the world there have been 7 hundred million people who have claimed to be Muslims in Islam, but only 7 were."
My dearest loving brothers, we have come here for one reason, and one reason only, to let God finish what He has already started within us, and what God has started within each of us is Bawa Muhaiyaddeen within us (may God be pleased with Him), which is the Triple Flame of God within us, which must move back into the Oneness of God to complete what God has started within us, the Three within us must again become the One within us.
Nothing else is really happening, either within us or "outside" of us. Everything else is a dream, is false, is wrong, is over. We must think about this a little, my dearest loving brother of the One heart.
And we are what Bawa is doing within us, we are not "separate from" Bawa in any way, as a shadow of the pole is not separate from the pole, we are how He moves the Three back into the One, by the Three understanding the Thee, by realizing that "who He is" is what is within Him, and what is within the Three is the One.
But this understanding can only occur within us when we voluntarily disappear back into Him within us, from which we have come, when we let ourselves end within Him, giving up our life of darkness within us for His life of light within us, allowing the shadow to disappear back into the pole, then this understanding of the Three of the Three will occur within us.
Then Bawa will cease to exists as "separate from" God within us, and the Three within us will disappear back into the One within us, from which it has come, allowing the One to understand the One within us, completing God's explanation of God to God within us, finishing God's answer to God's question within us, God's question to God in anathi within us, "Who am I?"
This is "who we are", my dearest loving brother Asma'el Muhaiyaddeen, we are the shadow of the Shaikh, and this is "where we are", we are within what He is doing within us, which is revealing True Man within True Man within us, revealing the Three within the Three within us, so an understanding of the Three by the Three can occur within us.
And this is "what is happening" in our life, we are being destroyed within us so He can again exist within us, as the Three within the Three within us, so the understanding of the Three by the Three can occur within us, so the Three within us can return to the One within us, from which it came, so We as the One can again exist as One with God within us.
So get with it. That is the program, not you or I refining our understanding of God, or of Bawa, or of the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).
Please, don't use Bawa to define you. Instead, use Bawa to destroy you. Then, and only then, will you find peace, as this child has.
My love you (anbu) my dearest loving brother. You are a very good Child of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), but you need to stop all of this writing about Bawa, and all of this intellectual investigation, and traveling, and get down to the real work, the real work of doing nothing.
Yes nothing. That is the one thing, and the only thing that will release you from the hell of your mind, doing nothing, but you must learn how to do nothing correctly.
Because that is the only thing that the mind cannot deal with, cannot handle. In everything and anything else the mind is free to take credit, to stay alive, and to subtlely lead you to hell, as a "scholar", as an "Imam", as a "Shaikh", as a "friend", as a "husband", as a "wife", as a "mother", as a "father", or as an "employer", as a "president", a "doctor", an "engineer", a "carpenter", a "farmer", a "business man", a "manager", an "entrepreneur, etc., etc., etc.. All of these are really just the names of the doors of hell.
Please forgive this child if any of this offends you, or your family, or your friends in any way, this child is a fool who only knows to sit at the feet of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), seeking His protection in all things, and learning how to get out of the way. In this way, this child is hearing all of this for the first time too. Please realize this. Don't shoot the messenger. My love you.
And the only way to do nothing, to truly do nothing correctly, is to get God to do it, and God will, God will most certainly do whatever you think needs to be done, if it is worthy of God, if it is God's intention to do it, if you but intend that it be done and that God do it, and then hand it to God to do, with Iman, with absolute faith, certitude, and determination that only God exists, with complete acceptance of the heart that God is One, as this child has done with this letter, and then put it down, leave it alone, and be completely content with whatever comes, as this child is content with the outcome of this beautiful letter of God's grace.
This is the path that leads back to the Oneness of God, this is the path of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen within us (may God be pleased with Him), this is the straight path, the Suratal Mustaqueem, within each of us, within each of the Children of God for this age, within the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him). Everything else is but karma and self worship.
Bawa teaches us beautifully about karma and self worship in the book, "Golden Words of A Sufi Shaikh". For example, in "Golden Words Saying, number 222", page 72, Bawa teaches us about The Nature of Karma.
222. Reflect On Karma - "Karma is thought, the veil of thought which obscures the light of our wisdom, just as it covered our embryonic form"
------------ beginning of Quote -------------
The Shaikh says: My Son, the world finds it easy to go around saying, "Karma, karma", but you must reflect on this with your wisdom.
God has given all His wealth to man - hell and heaven, good and evil, and all His qualities. If man realizes this through his seven levels of wisdom, accepting and doing what is good while rejecting evil, there will be no karma for him. Only the resplendence of grace will dwell within him.
How is this? When clouds obscure the moon, not allowing its light to emerge, that is the moon's karma. But the moment the clouds disperse, we see only radiant light.
Like the clouds, your karma is the thing that obscures the light of your wisdom. If wisdom can make its resplendent light emerge, scattering the clouds and darkness, there will be no karma (for you), because darkness and shadows are karma.
When wisdom resplends without shadow as a complete light, karma will automatically recede. Then there is no longer any karma, there is only completeness.
You must realize what karma is. Karma is thought, the veil of thought which obscures wisdom just as it covered your embryonic form. If the light of wisdom attains completeness, karma is driven away.
Understand this and act accordingly, and you will shine as a true believer, a mu'mim, as the brilliant light of the sun to the world. Then neither karma nor darkness will affect you.
------------ end of Quote -------------
And as Bawa teaches us in the same book on page 73, in "Golden Words Saying, number 225", about How To Do Nothing Correctly,
225. Understand The Treasure Of Peace - "In every duty, give up the thought that you are doing it. Instead, act with the thought that God must do it, give Him the responsibility, and then perform the duty."
------------ beginning of Quote -------------
The Shaikh says: O Son, with wisdom you must understand the treasure of peace in your life. Listen
Do not every give room to the thought of hurting anyone. The idea of killing or hurting any life must be dispelled from within us.
No matter what duty you perform, do not seek the help of others in return. Do not expect to receive a reward. Do selfless duty in an unattached way.
In every duty, give up the thought that you are doing it. Instead, act with the thought that God must do it, give Him the responsibility, and then perform the duty. Even your intentions must be surrendered to God.
In your vision, action, thought, and wisdom, look at God first. Place Him before you in your life, and follow Him. Act with the qualities of God.
These will give peace and tranquility to life. If you make these points firm and certain in your wisdom (in your direct connection to God), if your realize them and act accordingly, all lives will trust you and love you, and all lives will pay obeisance to your qualities. ------------ end of Quote -------------
Please read these beautiful wisdom points over and over and over again, my dearest loving brother, and plead with God to open up their true meaning within you, as this child has and does. Nothing else will work. God must do God's work, not us. And all work is God's work.
Our work is to know that, to know God's work, which is all work, to know that everything within us is of incredible value, in God's hand, and useless in our hands.
In this way, our work is to get everything out of our hands and back into the hands of God, to make us His work, to make our life His life, to make our problems His problems, to make our understanding His understanding, to make our success His success. In this way, we must put down everything that we have mistakenly, in our ignorance, picked up, by handing it to our wisdom, by handing it to Bawa within us, and in this way by handing it all back to God within us, from whom everything has comes, saying, "Astaghfiru Allah al-'Azim" - I seek forgiveness from Allah the Supreme.
Saying to God,
"I seek forgiveness for being in charge, for acting like I exist "separate from" God, for acting like I am the "doer", and "knower" in my life, when in truth God is always in charge, and only God does and knows anything in my life, and I am His "Abd", His slave, His Abdulla."
And then we must "intend as God intends" and task God to do His work within us, which is all work within us, saying, "Al-hamdu lillah" - all praise and praising belongs to God and to God alone, realizing that everything that comes to us, in the world as things and people, and in our minds as thoughts, ideas, and intentions, is but a gift from God, a gift from God to God within us, not to us as "separate from" God, a gift to God within us to complete God's intention within us, which is to reveal God within God within us, by first revealing True Man within the Creation of God within us.
And then by saying, "Allahu Akbar" - only God is Great, realizing that only God can do anything of value with anything that comes to us in the world or in our minds, that only God can transform the darkness, ignorance, and impurity of the life of separation and differences, that we are currently experiencing in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us, into the life of light, wisdom, and purity within us, into the life of God, the Shaikh, and the Disciple within us, the Triple Flame of God within us.
Which in maturity becomes Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Ya Muhaiyaddeen or the Nur Muhammad within us, within our inner most heart, which in maturity is the Kingdom of God within us, the 8th heaven within us, or Firdaus.
But God can only do God's work within us when we stop, when we stop trying to do God's work within us, which is all work within us, when we stop trying to do anything within us without first re-establishing our direct connection to God, realizing that everything that we see "outside" of us is really within us. Then doing "nothing correctly" is easy.
And how do we stop everything within us, how do learn to do "nothing correctly" within us. We all have the answer. Remember what Bawa told us right before He physically left the world,
"Don't forget Me. Don't forget Me. Don't forget Me."
That is how we do it, by not forgetting Bawa. That is the key. That is the only thing that we have that does not belong to hell within us, that is not the property of hell within us, that if used correctly will cause our mind to sit down within us and our wisdom to stand up within us, that will open our direct connection to God within us.
Saying the word "Bawa" before we do or say anything, including before speaking, or saying our prayers, or doing our duty, is how we become connection to God, is how we connect our speaking, our prayers and our duty to God. This is how we set out intention on God, by saying the word, "Bawa".
This is just like signing onto the Internet to go to the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Library by typing in www.BawaMuhaiyaddeenLibrary.homestead.com. To be connected we must first do what is necessary to form the connection, or nothing about the connection will work. It is just that simple.
And for this age, this age of the Rahim of God, this age of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), this age of the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), there is no other way to become connected to God within us, except by saying the name "Bawa", or "Bawa Muhaiyaddeen", or "Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen". May we both do it like this.
Everything else that we say or do or intend or think is just part of the 7 hells within us, is just some aspect of our mind and desire, of the dream of "self existence", separate from God, separate from each other, and separate from the Creation of God within us, and only serves to nourish the lives of darkness, ignorance, and impurity within us, not the soul, the wisdom, and the Nur within us, not the Triple Flame of God within us. We must realize this.
My dearest loving brother Asma'el Muhaiyaddeen, we must realize without the slightest doubt, that "Bawa" is the name of God for this age, "Bawa" is the name of our qalb, our innermost heart, where God, our wisdom, and our ilm or divine knowledge reside, and where all the stuff of God, of our wisdom, and of the ilm of God reside within us.
This is our work, my dearest loving brother, to give our qalb or innermost heart a name, to give it the correct name for this age, to name that place within us, that Kingdom within us, where everything is Good, without differences and separation, where everything is Wise, directly connected to God, and where everything is Pure, having no duality. This is our work.
And the name of our qalb and of everything within our qalb for this age, for this age of the Rahim of God, when God pulls everything back into Himself, from which it has all come, is "Bawa" or "Bawa Muhaiyaddeen" or "Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen" (may God be pleased with Him).
Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.
Again please forgive me if anything in this letter upsets or offends you my dearest loving brother, it is just what has been growing within the heart of your brother, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen, for the last 16 years, living at the feet of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).
"Forgive me the wrong and accept the good. So I request."
Please give my love and salams to your wife Qadir Bee Bee (like the honey bee, She is so very sweet), and to all of your friends and family.
My love all of you from the bottom of my heart, or more appropriately, from the heart within my heart, the innermost heart, the One open heart of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), the gift of God for this age, which in maturity becomes the Rahim of God for this age, the heart of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us), the Children of God's Grace for this age, which is the gift within the gift of God for this age.
Also, we would like to plead with our good brother Muhammad Abdul Qadir (Michael Green) not to take any offence from this letter, as he must personally join with us to eradicate from the Fellowship this insidious virus of intellectualism, and separatism, that if not destroyed will destroy all of us, will destroy all of the work of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and all of the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us).
It is really horrible and an affront to God, to the Prophet of God, Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon Him), and to Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), to the Triple Flame of God within all of us.
May God give us the grace to melt our hearts and become again one with God, one with each other, and one with the Creation of God that God has so lovingly placed within each of us, as the vehicle created by God to complete His intention within us, to finish what He has started within each of us, which is to reveal God within God within us, by answering within us God question to God in anathi within us, the question of, "Who am I?"
Anything less than this is less than us, and should be discarded from us by handing it to God within us, by handing it to Bawa within us, by "intending as God intends" within us, and then by saying the word, "Bawa", or "Bawa Muhaiyaddeen", or "Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen" (may God be pleased with Him).
And in this way, inviting His Holiness to come out of our inner most heart, which is where He always resides within us, into our mind and desire, which is where we currently reside within us, making our mind sit down within us and causing our wisdom to stand up within us, and complete God's intention within us. There no other way to be victorious in our life.
My dearest loving brother Asma'el Muhaiyaddeen, we must realize without the slightest doubt that only God can do this Divine work within us, and Muhammad (Sal.) is His Messenger within us, and Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) is His Wisdom within us.
And He will do it if we but "intend as God intends", and ask Him, and His name for this age is "Bawa".
Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.
My love you (anbu) - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler), your brother of the open One heart, the heart of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), the Rahim of God for this age.
